I have to share this with you. It's pretty good! The Lord has brought up prophetically with me several times through the years, the importance of Meditating on His Word AND what I Confess with my Mouth.........
3 times for each through different servants of God......so I take this to mean that both are equally important. I have neglected the confession side of things for some time, even when He has stressed the importance of it. I once said to myself, I cannot leave this any longer and am sharing this with you so you can benefit from this too. The Lord has shown me several times this year that mental assent (information we know) gains nothing.....it is what we are currently practicing that does and will reward us more than we know.
This is an important message for your walk with God if any message was.
Here you will see something Jesus encouraged that is usually not seen or neglected that can make all the difference - when your heart and mouth are lined up with His Words. Don't let New-Age Affirmations and the Law of Attraction put you off. This is founded in Scripture, they are counterfeits.
In most counterfeits, there is an element of truth mixed with lies (like there was in the Garden of Eden). Therefore, we need to ask ourselves what truth we could be kicking out if we throw out the baby with the bath water.
I am writing about this on Called to Be Free because of the importance in enjoying freedom in Christ. Negative, bad and sad words attract the same and give us nothing to rejoice about. The reason is that our God and Creator looks for His words in our mouths to perform them.......the enemy also waits to hear negative content so he can cheat us
out of the Abundant life that Jesus promised us.That's why he plays on our thoughts often, so we say the wrong thing. He knows there's power in words if we don't. He saw the Earth and Universe created with them before we were born. And he also saw us created in the Image of God. We often think of the enemy as a threat but actually, he sees us as one and likes to keep us ignorant if he can.
JESUS DID NOT SAY THAT LIFE WOULD BE EASY
BUT HE DID SAY THAT WE COULD HAVE A GOOD LIFE.
SOME TELEVANGELISTS GIVE US A DISTORTED VIEW OF WHAT
THAT'S ALL ABOUT. STRIVE FOR BALANCE. READ THE SCRIPTURES!
Tom Brown who teaches about Positive Confession of God's word says that Christians often get nervous and ask him "Do you believe in positive confession?"
I answer them, "No! I believe in the positive confession OF GOD'S WORD!" You see, it is not simply "positive confession" that is powerful. It is the confession of "God's Word" that is powerful! I don't believe in speaking just anything and think that it is going to come to pass. No, I believe in speaking God's Word.
God's Word is what is powerful, not my word.
Someone might say, "If I confessed that I was going to be a millionaire, do you think I'm going to be one?" First of all, why do you confess that you are going to be a millionaire? "Because I want to be one."
Fine, but where in the Bible does God promise to make you a millionaire? Nowhere does it promise you that. God does not promise to make you a millionaire. He has promised to "supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." So put that promise in your mouth. Confess, "My God shall supply all my needs according to God's riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Now you are confessing God's Word. That Word is imperishable and incorruptible. However, saying that you are going to be a millionaire is like planting perishable seed—most likely it will not come to pass.
The Power of Resistance
A brother called Mark says: Let me ask you a question. Have you ever awoke in the morning with the symptoms of let’s say the flu on a workday? You remember that if you miss work then your paycheck will not be enough to make your house payment, so you FORCE yourself out of bed and you MAKE yourself go to work despite how you feel. Now after you have been at work for a while you suddenly realize that the SYMPTOMS of the flu you had that morning are no longer present in your body. So I ask you what happened to those symptoms that seemed so real a few hours earlier?
I will tell you exactly what happened, you RESISTED the TEMPTATION to lay in bed and give into the SYMPTOMS of the flu. You RESISTED the devil and he FLED from you! It doesn’t matter whether or not you knew this is what you were doing at the time, but this is a principal or law that God has established much like the law of gravity and will always work. You see the law of gravity works whether you believe it or not,
but the more you know about how the law of gravity works the more you will be able to have it work to your advantage and not have it work against you. Therefore the more you know how the law of FAITH works the more effective you will be
in overcoming the enemy.
We are told in Hebrews 11:3 that the very world in which we live in was framed by the Word of God. Numerous times in Genesis we read the words
“And God SAID let there be…and it was.”
Speaking faith filled words is God’s WAY to bring things into existence. And we are created in his very own IMAGE. So just as a child IMITATES his parents so should we as God's children IMITATE our heavenly Father who created us
in his IMAGE and LIKENESS.
If we want to speak and say what God's word says and be in agreement with the word of God, then we will have to spend time reading and studying his word. We must meditate, think and ponder on the things of God through the day on a daily basis, then when his word is written upon our hearts in abundance our speaking will become positive and we will bring forth good things in our life. And we will rid our heart and mouth of any negativity that only produces evil in our life.
God says “Death and life are in the POWER of the TONGUE; and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
If you love someone or something you will spend your time and ATTENTION toward them or it. If you are NOT a doer of God’s word, but a hearer only, then you are deceiving your own self as James 1:22 tells us, and you will not mix faith with what you have heard. Developing our faith is a choice we make. Wherever we choose to spend our time is what we will become most highly developed.
Now if you CHOOSE to believe God’s word and begin to speak positively and in line with the word of God to become a doer of the word and not a hearer only as James 1:19 tells us, then the temptation to talk negatively will surely come. But if we LOVE our tongue as the word of God says, then we will PAY ATTENTION and recognize the wiles of the enemy when he tries to use our words against us. We will then GUARD the words we speak. It will get easier in time.
Tom Brown says: Words are like seeds. When we speak, those words are planted into our lives. Later we reap the harvest from our lips. At the same time we have learned that not everything we say comes to pass. The reason is simple: Because of the Fall our words have lost the original power they had. When Adam sinned, he died spiritually.
In order to get back the original power of words, we must be born again. The new birth is a spiritual rebirth. To be born again means that our spirit becomes alive, just like Adam's spirit was before he sinned.
Real power is in the human spirit, not in the body or the mind.
Now it is still possible to be born again and not have much power in your words. The reason is simple: your born-again spirit must be cultivated. Your spirit can grow just like the body and mind can grow and expand. The more it grows the stronger it gets.
He says to make God's Seeds our Seeds.
That Peter calls God's Word "seed." Man's words are "seeds" too. What's the difference between God's words and man's words? Peter described God's Word as "imperishable" seed. "perishable" means incapable of dying. Everything that God speaks is Alive.
No word from God is dead.
I have planted many things in my life, including flowers and trees. In my experience, some of the things I planted grew and some did not grow at all; some grew at the beginning and died later. Everything did not grow perfectly, because natural seeds are perishable. Some seeds produce, some don't.
The reason is simple: words are perishable—subject to death. Everything in this world is subject to death, including words. This is why your words can fail to come to pass.
There is only one thing in this world that is imperishable: The word of God. God's Word is imperishable seed. It will come to pass...all the time.
Life and death refer to things that are positive, wholesome and Good from God.
And what is negative, destructive and bad from the evil-one.
We don't want those things in our lives, so God is giving us a CHOICE
to keep speaking His Words of Life into each day and all circumstances.

The Lord showed Joyce Myer, it is important what we Say with our mouths, not only what we refrain from that makes the difference. First, He taught her what
Not to Say and then He went a step further and showed her What to Say. So both should be inseparable. Many of us take the 1st step and not the second. Like the Holy Spirit showed a good friend recently: it is vitally important to give Jesus something to work with as the High Priest of our Confession. The content above sheds light on this, referring to Jesus as the Administrator of our Words (scripture words, positive, cheerful). My good friend will leave many of us for miles if we don't catch up with him........because he just had an unveiling of this and is running with it.
Let us run with him this race. In scripture, Joshua did, David did and Jesus did. The word 'meditate' in Josh 1 actually means to say to yourself verbally in the original Hebrew.......David always practiced the principle of confession and Jesus confessed scriptures many times in the new testament. So there is plenty encouragement for us to do the same. And I pray God's richest blessings for you "this is my God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect" (I just heard these words in my spirit).
A song says "yes God is Good, He is Good to me".
NOTE: SEE YOURSELF IN A RESTAURANT ABOUT TO ORDER A MEAL.
YOU WOULD NOT ORDER SOMETHING BITTER OR SOUR WOULD YOU?
YET WE DO SO IN LIFE WITH OUR WORDS OFTEN.
ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WAS SAID TO ME IN PROPHECY WAS
"NOT TO LET WORDS LEAVE YOU IN A HURRY' AND ANOTHER, ADDRESSING A SITUATION SAID "YOU NEED TO HAVE THE VICTORY OVER YOUR MOUTH".

WITH CONFESSION, YOU CAN PARAPHRASE SCRIPTURES WITH CHEERFUL,
PEACEFUL AND POSITIVE WORDS.......GIVING THEM PERSONAL APPLICATION.
THE LORD LOVES TO HEAR US DO THAT!
I DISCOVERED THAT THE WORD CONFESSION (in Greek) MEANS
ASSENT and PROFESSION. SEEMS THE TRANSLATORS HAVE
REALLY MISSED SOMETHING WONDERFUL THERE?
"The Lord is Good and Faithful is His Love. Let the Redeemed Say So".
"He watches over His Words to perform them"
