Choosing how we Live Today

This means  taking the Initiative  to decide  what goes  into each day  rather than coasting along putting up with everything that comes your way. Some people put more into a day than others, by can choose what goes into a day that makes for more quality in a day and how you live it. If practiced every day, this will make for a better quality of life for you and your love ones too because they will benefit as well. (taken from the Reigning in Life page). A practical application.

1. Some people put more effort into life than others and this often determines our out-come in life.....a week or a year. Those  with  certain  personality  types  or upbringing have more motivation and choices can come more natural to them.... the rest of us need to reach a place of awareness and put a considerable amount of effort into it. Mind-sets need to be renewed and habits need to change in order for us to live a better  quality life too.  We can  achieve this  because we have  "Christ in us the Hope of Glory" and "We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us"__ He can impart strength for this task in such a way that turns out for His Glory because "God Moves in our moving" better than when we are stationary.

2. Be careful what you carry to the next day_ reserve the "role-over" effect for Good things rather than those things that would deficit the good things in the following day. Each day has the potential for good and "not so good" and we can reserve the  right to  monitor what  attitudes  and  feelings we  give way  to  and  allow  to influence our day. If practiced every day, you can have a good life and a certain sense of Freedom just by adopting this principle alone. I've proven it.

I know that there is some good preaching on Reigning in Life. For me, I find the Practical important too. Sometimes we need to step beyond theories, no matter how scriptural they are in preaching and make them truly spiritual. Often, it's the 'little principles' in scripture - seemingly irrelevant - that make all the difference. The power of choice and purpose in our day makes for a satisfying day AND reigning in life. Such things are woven through the fabric of OT and NT scriptures.

I would like to direct you to some lighthearted reading
on my Christian Inspirational website.
I write poems like Helen Steiner Rice in the Presence of Jesus.
Poems of Joy, Peace, Love, Strength, Rest and Comfort.

They will open up in a separate window!

Too often we forget that we have a choice in all that we do, think and say as we strive forward day by day. We become bogged down in our busy lives, in external circumstances and the need to keep up with the Jonses - making ever more money in the hopes that this will somehow lead us to happiness. We forget that the choices we make today roll over and affect the days of tomorrow not only in our own lives but also in the lives of the people we come into contact with. It takes nothing to smile as someone passes you by but the difference this small action could make in someone else life has the potential to be HUGE!

Yes, I think that has been me in a sense, always "busy busy" seldom time to stop and smile. I used to do this. You and Janet have caused me to think. And life was more peaceful then. I will take some time to think how I can make my life less erratic. Thank you both. I can do this!

I pack as much as I can into my days often and then have a restful day to get over it. Maybe I could balance this out and make better choices. Sometimes half of the things I do are not really necessary and they take up so much energy. Reading this article has caused me to think first now HOW I live today.

Hi girls, I'm kinda different to Sheree and Cathy, I don't live a busy life and what Janet says makes a lot of sense....I don't think much what goes into the day or plan it except for important days. Maybe each day is important, so it would be a good idea to plan more often, say during the week. Decisions, thats an interesting word, something I think about in relation to others and not myself very often. I sure have some thinking to do. Reading your page on reigning in life has been good for me Janet. We've always heard of it in a spiritual context, I've never heard of practical applications before. Thank you so much, I must read more of this website.

I think we should do something for someone each day even if it's a smile or comment to make them feel nice and spread the fragrance of Jesus. We could do something for progress each week even if it's small. We would achieve more that way than nothing at all. Most of us do tend to get caught up in the rush and responsibilities of life that much gets wasted. Maybe we could do less of the unnecessary things that would make more time for other things and life would reward us.
